In the third network meeting we will look at living and design concepts of timber buildings with a focus on modular and prefabricated construction methods: What do timber buildings actually look like and which design and technical aspects determine their form?
From the research of the Cluster of Excellence IntCDC, Alya Rapaport looks at the prefabrication and modularity of multi-storey construction in the past, using historical examples from the 1960s and 1970s. Hana Svatos-Raznjevic shows the limits of the design scope of multi-storey timber buildings: their morphological typification, utilisation concepts and the question of the relationship between standardisation and creative design.
Hubert Nopper from AH Aktivhaus GmbH gives us an overview of the largest Plus Energie Quarter in Germany, which is currently being built in Stuttgart. He will shed light on the neighbourhood development in cooperation with the building owner and other project participants as well as the energy concept. Afterwards, we invite you to discuss with us.
